As a course, Business is distinctive in that it encompasses the theoretical and practical aspects of business in contexts which students will encounter throughout their lives. Conceptually, it offers learning from the planning of a small business to the management of operations, marketing, finance and human resources in large businesses. Through the analysis of contemporary business strategies, the course also provides rigour and depth and lays an excellent foundation for students either in tertiary study or in future employment.

We will equip all of our students with a strong and intellectual understanding of the key areas of business as well as the very practical aspects of running their own businesses. They will develop an understanding of how business relates to their lives and the lives of other stakeholders. This is with the view to enable them to critically analyse and evaluate the actions of businesses from start-up businesses to multi-national corporations. The clear aim is to give our students a passion for the subject that is wider ranging than the specification requirements.
